2015
.
2014/2015 was another very good racing season.

Our local weather patterns were for the most part in our favor.

Can not say enough about our new partner - Ms Donna T, owner of our racing facility.
We appreciate all her help and participation, newspaper ads amongst many other perks, she provides us with.  This helps us keep “Legends International Raceway”
the best of racing facilities, and good clean family fun for our fans and spectators.

2014

We had an excellent racing season for 2013/2014

One high lite of the racing season was a new track record set by
Dudley Harper of San Marcus, TX,
a regular member of our racing association.
His sander Sudden Death went down the 75’ track in 2.2105 seconds!

Our “First Spring Nationals” was held with $2000 in prize monies.

OCTOBER  2013
For the 2013-2014 racing season we moved our start date from September 1st to October 1st;
this gives us a 6 month racing season, October 1st to March 15, 2014.

The new "Legends Saloon" is sporting a new paint job inside and outside our ‘ Home Base’,
so the racing association repainted our area as well.

We are very appreciative of our new owner Ms Donna T. for affording
the opportunity to let us stay in our original area.

Many thanks to a few of our members who braved the  summer heat to clean and
paint our area.  We are looking forward to our Winter Texan fans and racing participants arrival.

Have you checked our face book that secretary Lin Teal has put together as well as our newly updated
website maintained by Lin and her good friend Elke.  Have a look!  Like us on face book SO TEX BSRA.

Come out and bring your friends to an afternoon of fun the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month!

July 2013
The 2012-2013 racing year is over and it was a great season!
We had our first Spring Nationals in March and gave out $2,000 total in prize money.

Hopefully we pulled in some new interest in belt sander racing.
We would like to wish the best to Nick Haar and his family as they leave the Pickled Pelican for Colorado.
The new Legends Saloon opened under new ownership on May 10th

The change of ownership will not affect the belt sander races.
It will now be known as "LEGENDS INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY".
The association is looking forward to a great relationship with Ms Donna T. ,new owner of the property.

We welcome anyone in the area to stop in and join us on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month,
October thru April at the "LEGENDS INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY"
aka  Legends Saloon in Fulton, Texas at 3720 N Hwy 35 at 2pm.

Big thanks go out to the association members for keeping the track and improvements current.

50/50 tickets and handle race entry forms has been added.

September 2011

Summer is over and Fall is here, or so the weather man says.
We here in the coastal area have not noticed the change yet.

The 2011-2012 racing season has started and we have changed the race time to
7pm for the months of Sept and Oct, for a little cooler response.

Our 2nd race of Sept was also Hummer Fest weekend.  A camera crew that was here to
film the Fest, saw our banner and stopped in to ask if they could film the races.

As a result, in Jan or Feb of 2012, on NBC Sports, you will be able to see
your favorite sanders racing.

We will try to let you know for sure just when to tune in!!

May 2011 - Happenings
The New Year of 2011 started off very exciting with Winter Texans out in full force, bringing their sanders
with them from up north, as well as the local racers.

There are two classes of racers – stock and modified.  Races are about equal between the two –
stock being limited to shortening the cord, grit paper and decorating the sander, the  modified can be ‘tweaked’.
The purpose of speeding up the modified sanders is to be as competitive as possible when racing your sander
against other racers.  The ultimate goal for modified racers is to break the track record for 75 feet, which is
currently at 2.29 seconds.

Along with the new colorful bleachers, new race track and announcers stand, spectators are also enjoying
the big screen TVs inside the Pickled Pelican Sports Bar for viewing the races.

We welcome anyone in the area to stop in and join us on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at the
Pickled Pelican Sports Bar in Fulton, Texas at 3720 N Hwy 35 at 2pm.

There is a colorful new look with the bleachers, tables and refurbished track.  Big thanks
go out to Nick and the association members for making all of the improvements happen.
